Itinerary for 10 Day Trail Riding Vacation Package:
Day Two, Ranch Trail Ride:
Ranch Trail Ride:
Total Ride Time: 3 Hours.
Ride Details: walking, trotting, climbing, possible cantering
After a breakfast, riders meet their assigned horse in the arena. You'll meet and greet you're horse and after some few warm up loops in a arena, we take riders out on our enchanting trails right here at our ranch. Our trails offer a variety of not only physical challenges, but also technical difficulties.
Riders will be trotting for long trot sequences, possibly cantering, climbing mountains and ravines.
A lunch will be served around noon, at the dining room!
If you booked a rental car, we will head to town for pick up- extra charge apply.
Dinner will be served around in the dining room!
Day Three, Burnt Peak Trail Ride:
Total Trail Distance: 3-6 hours.
Ride Details 9 miles: possibilities for some long stretches of trotting, 1250 feet elevation gain, climbing, a challenging ride.
After a hardy breakfast in the morning, we'll heading out for a long climb. This ride will take you on a long 1,250 feet elevation gain. After we hit the ridge you'll enjoy some long stretches of trotting on the Pacific Crest Trail, riding through ancient forests and crossing magical meadows. You'll be viewing panoramic desert and mountain view all around. The fire road guides us safely down, to Bushnell Summit, where the horse trailer waits.
Back at the ranch you could enjoy an early cold lunch, before you head out to town, maybe visit the beach!
Day Four, Hollywood Movie Set Locations Trail Ride:
Ride Details, up to 7 Hours: On this ride, you will be walking, trotting, climbing. This is a slow, but tough ride, due to the mountainous and rocky terrain.
While you enjoy breakfast, we load up the horses in the trailer. Soon we drive across a typical southern california, ranch- country side. After arrival at the rocks, we unload our horses and saddle up for a rocky expedition ride.
The famous rock formations were created by a long evolution from earthquake activity, of the San Andreas Fault Line. They appearing in many Hollywood Movies, Television Shows and Commercials.
This trail is getting never boring, since we have to stay in balance with our horses, while riding this winding trail up and down.
After the ride we could prepare a well deserved lunch- picnic. You will have the opportunity to climb the bizarre rocks.
Day Five, Antelope Desert Trail Ride:
Total Trail Time: 4- 5 hours.
Ride Details 8 miles: possibilities for some long stretches of trotting, maybe a canter if everyone is safe.
After breakfast we take another drive this morning out in to open desert! Wide desert roads will invite us for some speed! Enjoy long stretches of trotting in river beds and wide desert roads.
A lunch picnic will be served back at the ranch.
Afternoon you could visit the Griffith Observatory in Griffith Park, Hollywood or take a draft horse for a ride in our arena!( extra charge apply)
Dinner will be served in the dining room!
Day Seven: Baer Camp
Total Trail Distance: 12 miles
Ride Details 3-6 h: possibilities for some long stretches of trotting, 1700 feet elevation gain, and descend extreme climbing, challenging ride.
Day Eight Sandberg Trail Ride:
Total Trail Distance: 15 miles
Ride Details: 14 miles, on this ride, you will be walking, long stretches of trotting, long intensive 1700 feet climb and descend
Our ride begins with a slow warm up trot, to prepare our horses muscles for a long, steep 1,250 feet elevation climb. Arrived on Pine Meadow, the horses get a moment, to catch they breath. From here we head to the trail head of the world famous Pacific Crest Trail. A breathtaking, peaceful, nature grants us views from all around, while our horses climbing another two challenging miles to eagle peak top!
For the coming two miles skilled, confident, athletic, horse riders can be challenged if they wish, while zipping at a trot on this very winding, bending, hilly, up and down wilderness path. In addition riders will have to look out for upcoming branches. Bending balanced over the horse neck, side wards, or leaning back of your mount is required, to avoid sometimes the bushy branches. Most of our guest riders will break here a sweat!
Depending on the footing, we continue our ride, at a walk or trot, through oak forests, and crossing magical meadows. You'll be enjoying stunning views across the desert to the Tehachapie Mountains, and Los Padres National Forest. With some luck we maybe finding the possibility to watch some wildlife.
The last four miles we incline to Sandberg.
Arriving at historical Sandberg, we untack our horses, offer them water, allow them to roll, and load them up in the trailer. Before we haul back to the ranch we stop for a well deserved lunch in a Biker Bar "Rock Inn" in our little town of Lake Hughes.
Day Nine, Pacific Crest Trail to Lake Hughes:
Total Trail Distance: 16 miles, 27 km
Ride Details:5-8 hours. On this ride, you will be walking, long stretches of trotting, miles of trotting up and down hills, elevation gain 1700", climbing, a challenging ride.
Our ride begins with a slow warm up trot, to prepare our horses muscles for a long, steep 1,250 feet elevation climb. Arrived on Pine Meadow, the horses get a moment, to catch they're breath.
Once we reach the ridge, you'll enjoy some long stretches of trotting on the winding Pacific Crest Trail, heading towards Mexico. We'll pass through an oak forests, pines and crossing magical meadows. You'll be enjoying stunning views across the desert to the Tehachapie Mountains, and Los Angeles. With some luck we maybe finding the possibility to watch some wildlife.
After we slow down for a couple of miles, to get trough some rocky miles around the Sawmil Mountain, we trot on the open fire road towards Lake Hughes, with impeccable views, all across the desert,- often joined by a strong breeze of wind.
Descending will be until we see the little village of Lake Hughes.
Arriving at the trailer, we untack our horses, offer them water, allow them to roll, and load them up in the trailer. Before we haul back to the ranch we stop for a well deserved lunch in our Biker Bar "Rock Inn", in our little town of Lake Hughes.
Afternoon we'll return you rental car.
Dinner at the lunch room.
